Operation Flashpoint: Elite Tips Infantry:

Know the difference between cover and concealment. Cover provides both cover from enemy bullets and shrapnel AND concealment from the enemy. Concealment may hide you from the enemy, but often will not stop flying bullets and shrapnel. Sprint in bursts of 4 seconds, from cover to cover, or at least concealment to concealment, if you don't have cover. Place Anti-Tank mines in bushes. Tank drivers like to flush out enemy infantry by flattening bushes and trees when alerted to the nearby presence of hostile infantry.

Anti-Aircraft missiles work best when firing them up an enemy aircraft's exhaust. Firing them directly at an oncoming aircraft may be a waste of a missile. Provide covering fire for your fire-team buddy as he moves to his next firing position. Make sure he is ready to do the same for you before you move. If you're low on ammo, you can always switch weapons with some of your victims.

Make sure to scavenge valuable weapons and equipment before moving on to the next objective. When sniping, make sure to take out the Officer, first, then the machinegunners. Helicopter:

21 meters altitude is a good height to maintain for safe flying until you acquire better piloting skills. Make sure you turn your side doorgun towards the enemy, so as to allow him to engage the enemy. Pop-up from behind treelines to fire upon enemy vehicles. Duck back behind the trees after you've released your volley.

Armor:

Use buildings and wreckage to hide behind while you are reloading your main gun rounds and your AT missiles. Put the advantages of armor to good use. Engage targets from a distance. You'll find the coaxial machinegun excellent for mowing down distant infantry.

If you're driving, allow your gunner several seconds at a time to acquire and gun down targets. He will have a hard time engaging targets if you are constantly on the move. Think of your vehicle as a mobile heavy weapons platform. Move, halt, fire, move, halt, fire.

Aircraft:

Line up your targets using radar, unleashing a barrage once you have acquired them visually. Try to put some hilly terrain between you and your target area after you have made your pass.
